Lauren A. Schochor is an attorney and senior member of the Schochor, Staton, Goldberg, and Cardea, P.A. Medical Investigation Team.
Ms. Schochor earned her undergraduate degree in psychology from the University of Pennsylvania (cum laude) in 1998, and graduated from The George Washington University Law School (with honors) in 2001. While a student in law school, Ms. Schochor served as the Executive Managing Editor of the American Intellectual Property Law Association Quarterly Journal (a national publication), was admitted to the United States Court of Federal Claims as a student-attorney representing clients seeking awards from the National Vaccine Injury Compensation Program, and worked as a law clerk for Stein, Mitchell and Mezines LLP. A lifelong committed community volunteer, Ms. Schochor offered her time weekly as a tutor at the Maya Angelou Public Charter School, regularly served meals from DC Central Kitchen’s mobile food truck, and volunteered in the surgical intensive care unit (SICU) at Walter Reed Army Medical Center (known now as Walter Reed National Military Medical Center).
Following her graduation from law school, Ms. Schochor worked as an associate attorney at Conrad O’Brien, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where she represented clients in commercial litigation matters and complex tort cases, and defended the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) in medical malpractice actions. Upon returning to Baltimore, she joined Schochor, Staton, Goldberg, and Cardea, P.A. Throughout this time, she continued her involvement in community service projects by building with Habitat for Humanity, volunteering at the Carl T. Hayden Veterans’ Administration Medical Center (Phoenix, AZ), serving as co-chair of the Board of Directors of Rita Project, a non-profit organization that offered art therapy services to those impacted by suicide, and working on behalf of veterans’ advocacy groups. After marrying an active-duty service member, Ms. Schochor spent three years living in Columbus, Georgia (Ft. Benning) and Leesville, Louisiana (Ft. Polk), and acted as a Company Family Readiness Group leader for the U.S. Army 10th Mountain Division at Ft. Polk.
Ms. Schochor’s work as a medical investigator enables her to combine her passion for being in service to others and her love of learning, the law, and medicine. She is proud of how the Firm offers the highest quality of representation while forming lasting relationships with so many clients.
Ms. Schochor resides in Ellicott City with her husband, two children, three-legged rescue pup from Louisiana, and two cats. She enjoys travel, hiking, reading, cooking, crossword puzzles, learning new things, and volunteering her time with local community organizations.
