In this case of doctor negligence, James Cardea discusses the case of a 67-year old woman suffering from Bronchiectasis, which is damage to the airways, who is cleared for surgery despite extreme weakness and poor health. The lung specialist referred the patient to a cardiologist for further evaluation to determine if she was stable enough to undergo surgery. The testing revealed that she was not stable for surgery; however, despite the health issues she was experiencing, she was cleared for surgery by the cardiologist. Several weeks after the surgery, she passed away due to complications resulting from the cardiologist’s negligence.
