A native of Baltimore, Michael Rubin focuses on advancing the cause of individuals and groups affected by medical malpractice, negligence, sexual abuse, and other wrongful acts. Before joining Schochor, Staton, Goldberg & Cardea, P.A. in 2023, Mr. Rubin practiced as a civil defense attorney for over a dozen years at a premier law firm in Annapolis where he was elected partner in 2019. Mr. Rubin’s prior practice focused on defending doctors, hospitals, and equipment manufacturers in multimillion-dollar lawsuits in Maryland, the District of Columbia, and Delaware. His trial and advocacy experience includes medical malpractice jury trials, as well as arguing before the Appellate Court of Maryland.

Mr. Rubin understands the challenges individuals face when navigating the legal system after an injury. He is a persuasive and aggressive trial attorney with results in the courtroom. Mr. Rubin now uses his insider knowledge that he gained as a defense lawyer to benefit clients of Schochor, Staton, Goldberg & Cardea, P.A.

Mr. Rubin graduated with honors from Franklin & Marshall College in 2006. In 2010, he graduated with honors from the University of Maryland School of Law, where he was a member of the Maryland Journal of International Law. After graduating law school, Mr. Rubin served as a law clerk to the Honorable Timothy J. Doory in the Circuit Court of Baltimore City where he was relied upon to help write judicial opinions and review pending legal motions.

He is a member of the American Bar Association, the Maryland State Bar Associations, and the D.C. Bar.

Mr. Rubin lives in Baltimore with his wife and children.
